Paul Barry
Paul Barry, a graduate of politics, philosophy and economics at Oxford University, is one of Australia's most respected journalists. His films for ABC TV's Four Corners in the 1990s won every major award in the field.
He is the author of several best sellers, including The Rise & Fall of Alan Bond and The Rise and Rise of Kerry Packer, which was shortlisted for the Banjo Awards. He has been said to “combine the highest standards of investigative journalism with admirable professional balance and a refusal to be intimidated by perceptions of power.”
He now writes for the Nine Network. During his time with the Sydney Morning Herald his exposé of tax–dodging barristers led to changes in the law and to the barring of more than a dozen legal practitioners. It won the Walkley award for Best News Report.
He is currently working on an unauthorised biography of James Packer, which is due to be published in 2009.
